To continue its mission to enhance textile research, education, and scholarship, the AATCC Foundation created an opportunity for the Association's members and supporters to have their names inscribed in brick pavers and laid into the walkway leading to the Sundial Plaza at the AATCC Technical Center. The walkway is renamed the William R. "Bill" Martin Jr. walkway, in honor of our past AATCC Executive Director who served from 1973 to 1996. The walkway will be dedicated to Martin in a ceremony and luncheon held at noon, November 14, during fall committee meetings in Research Triangle Park, N.C., USA. "I'm looking forward to it with great anticipation," said Martin during a recent tour of the grounds at the AATCC Technical Center. "I would like to share the experience with the staff and long-time members-whoever will be here-it will be fun to see them. When you retire, that's one of the things you miss the most."
