For 100% cotton fabrics,achieving the best performance from a durable press(DP)product is a balancing act.Since crosslinking to obtain durable press properties weakens the fiber,construction and finishing details must be optimized to provide the best balance of physical properties.The first consideration in making a durable press product is the fabric construction.Since some strength and abrasion resistance will be lost due to the durable press treatment,the initial fabric properties,before finishing,must be high enough to meet the acceptable standards in the final product.
