This study examined and compared the effects of repeated launderings on the tear strength,breaking strength,elongation,and stiffness of 100% cotton prewashed,stonewashed,and cellulase enzyme-washed denim blue jeans.AATCC and ASTM test methods were used.Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to determine significant differences in the three denim types after laundering cycles.Duncan's test of multiple range determined the source of any significance found.The results revealed that denim fabric type and laundering cycles had a significant effect on the tear strength.Laundering cycles and the interaction between denim types and fabric direction had a significant effect on the breaking elongation.In addition,denim type and laundering cycles had a significant effect on the stiffness.
