All of us have a direct stake in helping our students acquire the needed knowledge and competencies and in documenting such learning outcomes to different stakeholders. At the individual level, evaluation of such outcomes may be carried out through tests or some form of assessment. At the institutional level, a systematic institutional or program review process has become the norm (Rubin & Martell, 2009; Shaftel & Shaftel, 2007). Within this issue's Research and Reviews, all eight articles seek to demonstrate some learning outcomes or process that will improve knowledge and competencies in our students.
