The main concepts and practical matters of human capital management have been a subject of numerous studies throughout the years. Unlike previous contributions, Leveraging the New Human Capital: Adaptive Strategies, Results Achieved and Stories of Transformation, by Sandra Burud and Marie Tumolo, focuses on understanding new structural changes and their implications in the modern business environment. These changes come from the shifting nature of employer-employee relationships and even more precisely, the ever-increasing value of human capital in the modern economy. The authors present a strong case for a different approach to leveraging human capital: understanding the structural changes in an organization and turning them to a long-term competitive advantage.
