In his letter I"More on the Top 100 People," Dec. 14, 2009-Jan. 10, 2010, page 8), Mr. Bossin states that, "No one in your Top 100 People is truly a practitioner" and that, "No one on the list has made any difference to me during my 30-plus years of practice."rnRespectfully, I disagree with his comments. I have been honored to be part of Accounting Today's Top 100 list and I am an active CPA sole practitioner for nearly 30 years. And there are others among the group. In terms of people who have or will make a difference:rn1. Karen Hawkins, who was in private practice as an attorney for 25 years, stepped up in 2009 to become the director of the Internal Revenue Service Office of Professional Responsibility, and is likely to be overseeing the most formidable transition in the delivery of tax prep services this country has ever seen.
