1. How far are we from the truly paperless office? Paperless is somewhat of a misnomer because as long as the mail is delivered every day, no firm will ever be "paperless." What we really mean is a firm that has created a digital work environment. Technologically progressive firms are probably more than 75 percent of the way there. The technology is available; the primary obstacle is culture change. With the next generation of leaders, those firms will be closer to 97-98 percent there (someone will always print).
