Just as companies will always need their books kept and audited, everyone has to file a tax return, even in the toughest of times, so it's no surprise that the top tax firms managed to squeeze growth out of 2008. Overall, tax grew slightly as a percentage of total revenue for the Top 100 Firms - and with all the tax changes being mulled over in Washington, it may make up an even larger percentage next year, as taxpayers look for expert help and firms explore new markets, following the lead of the likes of Liberty Tax Service, which pushed further into the Hispanic market with a new educational effort in 2008.
