Everyone would like to have a crystal ball to predict the future, and anyone buying technology services and products wants to know the direction these services and products will take. Accounting Technology asked four leaders in the accounting and tax market to list the issues they think will be most important, and why they believe that practitioners should pay attention to these trends. Matt Camden is the CIO of UHY Advisors, a Chicago-based firm that provides, and is also a member of UHY's management committee. His predictions: Software as a service. Although practitioner software companies like CCH (ProSystem) and Thomson (GoSystem) have offered online versions of their tax processing software for years, now that Microsoft is in the game with OfficeLive and LiveMail, implementing software as a service will no longer be seen as a risky move.
