We describe a set of tools for analyzing, visualizing, and assessingrnarchitectural/construction progress with unordered photo collectionsrnand 3D building models. With our interface, a user guidesrnthe registration of the model in one of the images, and our systemrnautomatically computes the alignment for the rest of the photos usingrna novel Structure-from-Motion (SfM) technique; images withrnnearby viewpoints are also brought into alignment with each other.rnAfter aligning the photo(s) and model(s), our system allows a user,rnsuch as a project manager or facility owner, to explore the constructionrnsite seamlessly in time, monitor the progress of construction,rnassess errors and deviations, and create photorealistic architecturalrnvisualizations. These interactions are facilitated by automatic reasoningrnperformed by our system: static and dynamic occlusionsrnare removed automatically, rendering information is collected, andrnsemantic selection tools help guide user input. We also demonstraternthat our user-assisted SfM method outperforms existing techniquesrnon both real-world construction data and established multiviewrndatasets.
