摘要

The second edition of this well-known guide to issues surrounding open educational resources (OERs), digital asset management systems (DAMs), digital libraries, and institutional repositories (IRs) provides updated and new information related to these topics. The first four chapters discuss the planning and implementation of a digital repository: should you do it?, how to sell it to your constituencies, choosing an architecture platform, asking the right questions before you choose a platform, and building a requirements list. In addition, the book examines issues related to planning workflow, collection development and acquiring content, metadata, batch processing, rights management, resource integrity, digital preservation and file formats, and cloud-based digital preservation services.
