Written by the members of the Creative Commons Team, this book is an additional resource to the website and certificate course. The book is organized like traditional textbooks including learning outcomes, questions to consider, a review of each chapter section, and an extensive list of additional resources. It provides a good overview of the concepts and legal processes involved when using Creative Commons Licensing either as a producer of content or as user of found content. Chapter one provides a history of the establishment of Creative Commons Licensing. There is also an explanation of how Creative Commons is a set of licenses, a movement, and a worldwide organization seeking to ensure that collaboration will continue as new products are created.
