The editor and contributors to this book challenge readers to reconsider the physical space of the library from a variety of perspectives. The purpose of the book (a collection of chapters by contributors from North America, China, Australasia, and Europe) is to help the reader conceive of library space as a "learning space-what exists, why it continues to be important and what really matters when planning it".
