摘要

This volume gathers various proposals to redesign library services and space to continue to meet user needs in a constantly changing digital environment. Reviews of the history of change in libraries assist in shaping possible alternative reactions to current challenges. While acknowledging that doomsayers have long been predicting the death of the physical library, the contributors are full of creative ideas for meeting current and future challenges to the viability of both physical and digital libraries. Various scenarios are projected based on more or less flexible responses to rapidly changing environments as well as new service and funding models.
