The problem of constructing confidence intervals for the common mean of several populations is fairly common in many medical and social applications. In general, this problem arises in the context of meta analysis that two or more sources are involved with data collection on the same basic problem and there is a need to combine these data for efficient inference. In this paper we consider the problem of constructing exact confidence intervals for the common mean of several normal populations with unknown and possibly unequal variances.
