I have been interested in space from the age of ten when NASA was picking the first Mercury Program astronauts. In the 1960s, I was a member of the National Space Institute (predecessor organization which along with the L-5 Society merged to form the National Space Society) and have been a member of the National Space Society (NSS) national organization since the 1980s.
