摘要

Organic materials that exhibit reversible stimuli-responsive switching between two or more solid phases with different emission characteristics have potential applications in such fields as sensors, memories,display devices,security inks,and molecular machines.Tremendous progress has been made in the development of stimuli-responsive organic materials that display reversible color and/or luminescence switching in liquid or gel systems based on alternative molecular structures. However, the design and synthesis of organic materials that display efficient and reversible switching between two luminescent states in the solid state still remain a challenge. This can be mainly attributed to the fact that the conversion of molecular structures in the solid state is often very difficult. Recently, a promising approach has been employed to control solid-state luminescence by altering the solid-state molecular packing.
