Over the fall, there were several historic site ceremonies held around the world. In October, Region VII Director Juergen Quest spoke at a ceremony designating Bremen Airport, in Germany, as an AIAA Historic Aerospace Site. The airport, which celebrated its 10Oth anniversary in 2009, is probably best known for the establishment there of the Focke-Wolf Company. The company was founded in 1923 by Henrich Focke and Georg Wulf for the development and construction of civil and trainer airplanes. Today, Germany's second largest Airbus site is located at the airport with about 3,000 employees.
