Having just completed a year-long apprentice period, I am beginning my term as AIAA's President with the Institute in good shape and eager to advance the aerospace profession into the new decade. Thanks to last year's excellent work by George Muellner, the Board of Directors and our many active volunteers, and BobrnDickman and the professional staff, we have a solid foundation upon which to build the Institute's future. Our challenge now is to sustain and extend this momentum during a time of major transitions within the aerospace industry and of deep recession in the broader economy.
