摘要

There are many books that cover cruise missiles; this one concentrates on US missiles over the past 100 years, marking the technology's centennial. This soft-backed book runs to 200 pages of high-quality paper, print, photographs, artwork and drawings, all supporting the author's commentary of the birth of the US cruise missile through to the latest projects for JSM and hypersonic missiles. The early development of the cruise missile is covered with the challenges presented to control, guidance and homing. As the book progresses, the achievements in technologies, such as navigation, are explained and this book becomes an introduction to the fundamentals of putting a cruise missile capability into service.
