This truly fascinating book is timely, well-researched and accessible to even a lay-reader. It spans a seldom covered area of modern British military air operations and does so with insight, perception and candour. The subtitle of Inside Britain's Drone Wars' is more than just a publisher's hype, it is an accurate representation of what's inside. This is an inside story of the Reaper Force.For several years, the Royal Air Force has struggled with the term 'drone' and has preferred 'remotely-piloted air system' but that was never going to catch on with the media. We are stuck with 'drones' for all sorts of UAV, RPVs, RPAS and so be it. The name is not important, the vital role is - as is the extraordinary lengths to which the crews are trained by the Royal Air Force and its partners in the US.
