An independent collaboration between the UK Government and industry, the Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI) was created in 2013 with the aim of both maintaining and expanding the UK's aerospace design and manufacturing capability. Under the ATI R&T programme, the Government provides grant funding for research projects up to 50% of the total project value and for capital investment projects up to 100% of the total investment value. The programme is jointly managed by the ATI, Innovate UK and the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS).
