The formation of the Royal Aeronautical Society is inherently linked to ballooning and what better way to celebrate the Society's 150th anniversary than by setting a Balloon Challenge for the future innovators and leaders of our industry. The RAeS Boscombe Down Branch, supported by engineers, apprentices and project managers at QinetiQ, are launching a competition for schools in the region. Young technical professionals will provide briefings to teachers and pupils and encourage them to develop their balloon, payload and ground stations to compete in the Finals this Summer for three 'Grand' Prizes.
