If the loss of Air France flight 447 in the Atlantic Ocean on route from Rio de Janeiro to Paris in June 2009, the disappearance of Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing somewhere in the Asia-Pacific region in March 2014 and even the most recent tragic loss of life in the AirAsia Flight QZ8501 incident off the Indonesian coast have taught us anything, it is that the most important battle that the commercial airline industry needs to face up to is the one against silence.
