Qantas shares have dived after the Australian flag carrier issued a shock profits warning and announced potential job cuts of up to 1,000 workers. Shares dropped to the lowest level since privatisation in 1995 following a profit forecast from the airline that it would suffer up to $300m in losses from July-December due to a soft market, tougher competition and higher fuel costs.
