In December, BAE Systems reported that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will not be proceeding any further with a proposed £6bn deal to buy 60 Eurof ighter Typhoons, with the company saying: "The UAE have advised that they have elected not to proceed with these proposals at this time." Meanwhile, the company reported that: "Whilst good progress has been made, a definitive agreement has yet to be reached" over the finalisation of the Salaam deal to supply Typhoons to Saudia Arabia.
