Malaysian carrier AirAsia has announced a 39% fall in first quarter profits from MYR172·44m down to MYR 104·79m. Despite a 19% rise in Q1 passenger numbers up to 9·8m, the airline attributed the fall in profits to higher finance costs and a foreign exchange loss on borrowings.
