Boeing has delivered more aircraft than Airbus in the first three months of 2012, putting the US manufacturer in pole position to overtake its European rival in annual aircraft production for the first time since 2002. In April the two manufacturers both announced their first quarter statistics, Boeing increasing its deliveries by 32% compared to Q1 2011 to 137 commercial aircraft and Airbus stepping up production by 10% to 131 aircraft.
