A Sukhoi Superjet regional aircraft on a promotional tour of Asia crashed into a mountain during a demonstration flight in Indonesia. The aircraft took off from Jakarta on 9 May with an estimated 45 passengers and crew but vanished from radar after descending from 10,000 to 6,000ft close to a 7,200ft mountain. Those aboard are believed to have included eight Russian pilots, journalists and representatives of Indonesian airlines.
