Indian scientists and engineers investigating the 25 December failure of the GSLV (Geostationary Satellite Launch Vehicle) rocket have narrowed the problem down to faulty cables and connectors. This latest setback brings the number of failed GSLV to four, out of seven attempts in the past ten years. Arianespace recorded the sixth successful Ariane 5 launch of 2010 on 29 December, putting two satellites into orbit. The pay-load comprised Spain's Hispasat IE and Korea's Koreasat 6. NASA's space shuttle Discovery is set to launch to the ISS on 24 February - a revised date due to cracks that were found in the main external fuel tank. As Aerospace International goes to press die shuttle is due to be moved to the launch pad on 1 February.
