In 2010, Pakistan achieved a long-held ambition - the introduction of an indigenously produced combat aircraft, the JF-17/(FC-1 Chinese designation) into regular squadron service. This development has meant that Pakistan has been able to meet a long-standing requirement for a modern multi-role fighter. This project, a co-development with China and the self-reliance of the PAF was not accomplished overnight but took decades.
