Although the current recession in world trade over the past 18 months has dampened growth in Chinas aerospace business, the longer term potential for growth is still huge. China is rapidly increasing its aerospace manufacturing capability either through its own companies or through parterships with western companies. Complete A320s are now being assembled in China which also supplies parts for Bombardier and Airbus aircraft and will play a major part in the forthcoming CSeries and A350. A number of western GA designs are starting to be manufactured in China, including Cessna Skycatchers, Diamond DA40s, Liberty Aerospace XL2s and several Eurocopter helicopters.
