Emile Parfait Simb should touch down in Bangui on 16 April the day before the official launch of his new corporate aviation business Simb Airlines Corporation. The Cameroonian businessman's trip should include a work session with President Faustin-Archange Touadéra, whom he met during his first visit to the country in December 2020. Simb was subsequently decorated with the prestigious Central African Republic (CAR) award of "chevalier de l'ordre de la reconnaissance centrafricaine" on 1 March. Simb's staff have been busy preparing the launch of the new airline ahead of his arrival. On 7 April, they met with François Edly Follot, managing director of the national civil aviation authority ANAC, to ensure the CAR authorities were making progress on their airline carrier certificate application. The company needs this licence to be authorised to fly. As we understand, Simb has bought a 16-year-old 11-seater Beechcraft 200 from Texas-based manufacturer Ramble On.
