To end its dispute with the Cameroonian tax authorities, the British energy producer Globeleq Africa has been forced to pay nearly $23m in 2020 and 2021. This amount includes the $8m needed to regularise the company's situation regarding capital gains tax and registration fees. As reported by Africa Intelligence on 16/09/20, the tax authorities uncovered irregularities in the company's acquisition and sale of two power plants - one in Kribi (216 MW) in the south-west and another in Dibamba (88 MW) near the economic capital Yaounde.
