Chinese firm Beijing Forpetro Sino-Rig Co hasrnstepped up from being a sub-contractor for therndrilling of Moroccan onshore permits HaharnNord, Haha Sud and Haha Centre, to nowrnbecome a shareholder. The Moroccan ministerrnof energy, mines and sustainable developmentrnAziz Rabbah, recently authorised the transferrnof part of the 75% stake owned by Pakistanirnfirm Petroleum Exploration (PEL) in the threernblocks to Beijing Forpetro. PEL now holds 38%rnin the blocks, and Beijing Forpetro 37%.rnMorocco’s Office national des hydrocarburesrnet des mines (ONHYM) retains a 25% stake inrnthe permits. Several weeks ago, PEL renewedrnits exploration licenses on the three blocksrn( AEI 797).
