According to our sources, Swedish firm Svenska,rn100% owned by Saudi-Ethiopian businessmanrnMohammed Hussein Al Amoudi, is on thernmarket. Marc Benton, head of the oil and gasrndivision in EMEA region for Deutsche Bank inrnLondon, is overseeing the operation. Svenska’srnentire production comes from its Ivorian Baobabrnfield (27.4% share) owned alongside operatorrnCNR. The junior also holds exploration assets inrnNigeria and Guinea Bissau. Al Amoudi needs arnfresh source of cash after the bankruptcy ofrnMoroccan refinery, Samir, which he owned untilrnthe plant closed down in 2016 (AEI 794).
