The president of Congo-K’s supreme court ofrnjustice has once again ruled in favour of KivurnLake Energy Corp (KLEC), a company headedrnby South African Clinton Wood andrnCongolese businessman DieudonnernMwendanga, who had campaigned for thernconstruction of a methane supplied powerrnplant next to Lake Kivu. The July 27 ruling,rnwhich African Energy Intelligence was able tornconsult, orders the suspension of the ministryrnof hydrocarbon’s June 2 decision in which thernmethane plant contract was temporarilyrnawarded to Tunisian firm EPPM. Thisrncompany was named the preferred bidder ofrnthe 2016 selection process even though itsrnoffer was much more costly than KLEC’s bidrn( AEI 775).
