Less than 18 months after his appointment as boss of the Department of Petroleum Resources, Andrew Obaje was dismissed without explanation on Nov. 16. He had already been under fire for a year. His successor, Osten Oluyemisi Olorunsolam, comes straight from Shell where he had served up to now as vice president (gas) at Shell Upstream International. The two key positions in the industry are now held by former executives of the Anglo-Dutch major: Olorunsola at DPR, which organizes licensing rounds for oil acreage, and the natural resources ministry headed by Diezani Madueke-Allisson.
