According to our sources, a draft bill is being prepared by the Angolan government to set the country's maritime boundaries. In substance, the bill will be a copy of a document hammered out by Luanda in May, 2009 concerning the extension of Angola's continental shelf. The document was sent along to a United Nations boundaries panel which will examine it. For the moment, Angola lacks any legislation that refers specifically to its maritime boundaries, and the only documents which mention exact coordinates concern offshore oil blocks.
