This research was carried out under laboratory conditions at 25℃, 70 ± 10% RH, 14h-photoperiod, aiming to evaluate the effect of six cotton genotypes on the feeding behavior of Alabama argillacea Hubner. Leaves consumption, fresh weight gain and body weight during each periods of the insect development were quantified. The results showed that 1 to 5 days, the larvae consumed more the CNPA 92-1125. In the period of 6 to 10 days, it was observed that the larvae showed a good food adequancy when fed on the CNPA Precoce 2, CNPA 92-1125 and CNPA 7H. From 11 to 15 days, the larvae again consumed more the CNPA 92-1125 and also the CNPA 92-1118. In the whole larval phase, the caterpillars had a larger consumption when fed on the CNPA 92-1118 and CNPA 92-1125. Showed a larger body weight when fed of the CNPA 7H, happening the contrary with the CNPA Precoce 1.
