WASHINGTON - Americans con served about 112 million MWh of electricity in 2010, 21 percent more than conserved in 2009, according to a "Summary of Ratepayer-Funded Electric Effi ciency Impacts, Budgets, and Expenditures" report issued in January by the Institute for Electric Efficiency (IEE). The IEE, a nonprofit organization that promotes the benefits of elec tricity, cites utility energy-efficiency programs, as well as more efficient appliances and gadgets as the primary drivers of the savings.
