Air Force Reserve Command's 93rd Bomb Squadron at Barksdale AFB, La., is assuming the lead for B-52H training, in a shift under way in the B-52 fleet. Currently a combat-coded unit, the 93rd BS is transitioning to the B-52 formal training unit (FTU), or schoolhouse, according to Col. Edmund D.Walker, commander of the AFRC's 917th Wing, the bomb squadron's parent unit.rnAssigning the B-52 schoolhouse mission to the Reserve unit is "a good fit" because its members, like Reservist airmen across the Air Force, bring much experience and stability to their USAF jobs, said Walker.
