America's airpower arsenal is long overdue for a revolution in munition effects. Even as the US military's combat aviation inventory continues to evolve into a robust fifth generation force with the steady employment of the F-35-and soon the new B-21-these aircraft are still delivering dated munitions with limited, fixed effects. Modernizing these munitions and the combat effects they produce is a grow-ing, if under-appreciated, priority for the US Air Force and Department of Defense (DOD).
