The first batch of Royal Australian Air Force EA-18G Growler electronic attack aircraft are due to arrive at RAAF Base Amberley in early 2017. Once in service they will be assigned to No.6 Squadron and part of the Air Combat Group. Currently No.6 Squadron flies the F/A-18F Super Hornet from Amberley, alongside No.1 Squadron. All 24 Royal Australian Air Force Super Hornets will be consolidated within No.1 Squadron in the November timeframe. The recent Defence White Paper and Integrated Investment Plan (DIIP) forecasts they will remain in service until at least 2030.
