Local press reports say the Turkish Air Force is interested in acquiring a squadron of close air support (CAS) aircraft and negotiations with American company IOMAX are underway for the Archangel border patrol aircraft. According to the press reports, a team of Turkish Air Force officials visited the company headquarters in Mooresville, North Carolina late last year. The number of aircraft to be acquired is between eight and 24. The Archangel BPA is certified to use the 2.75-inch (70mm) Cirit laser-guided rocket developed by Turkish company Roket Sanayii A.S. (ROKETSAN). The United Arab Emirates is known to have used the Archangel with Cirit during operations in Yemen.
