The Icelandic Coast Guard's Bombardier Dash 8-314Q has returned from a six-week Mediterranean deployment, routing via the UK on February 16. The maritime surveillance aircraft, TF-SIF, departed from its Reykjavik base on January 2 to support the European Union's border control agency FRONTEX. Initially flying to Norwich in the UK it continued to Sigonella, Sicily after a night-stop. It made a similar deployment to Brindisi, Italy, in 2014. This was howbver cut short when it was recalled to Iceland in August to monitor the volcanic activity under the Vatnaoekull glacier.
