Lockheed Martin has bought Sikorsky from its parent company, United Technologies, for some $9 billion. The acquisition, which is subject to US Government approval, will keep the Sikorsky name and brand. Lockheed Martin outbid Textron-Bell, their only competitor for the buy-out, after Boeing dropped out.
