The largest, by value, military contract announced at the Dubai Air Show was by Saab. The Swedish defence giant has won a large $1.27 billion (estimated) contract to expand the airborne surveillance capabilities of the United Arab Emirates Air Force with the Swing Role Surveillance System (SRSS) - a new version of the Erieye radar system. The system will be integrated on the Bombardier Global 6000 - a 99ft long business aircraft built in Dorval, Quebec, Canada. Saab says the SRSS is capable of simultaneous detection and tracking of multiple targets in the air, on land and at sea.
