On February 9 the Bulgarian government reported that it has approved the launch of a public procurement procedure for an integrated logistic support arrangement for the Bulgarian Air Force's (BuAF) fleet of three Alenia C-27J Spartans. It covers various logistic support and training activities over ten years. The selection of a contractor via a public tender is regarded as a pure formality required by local legislation, as it is believed that only the C-27J's manufacturer, Alenia Aeronautica, has the capability to meet the Bulgarian requirements. Contract signature is expected in the first half of 2011.
