On April 5 Sikorsky S-61A-1 U-276 completed the last flight by the type in Flyvevabnet (Royal Danish Air Force) service. The type had been officially replaced by the AgustaWestland EH101 Merlin Mk 512 within Eskadrille 722 in the search and rescue role, but periodic maintenance check flights were undertaken by the Forsvarets Materieltjeneste (Danish Defence Material Service) just in case they could be sold or were needed to supplement the Merlins.
